The Wolfsburg ace would be a useful addition to the Everton squad.
Toffees boss Ronald Koeman’s revolution at Goodison Park is well and truly underway, but the Dutchman has made his intentions to strengthen his options further still very clear, highlighting left-back and centre-forward as the two positions that he still wants to improve.
With just eight days remaining until the transfer window slams shut, however, signing an established striker might prove to be tricky, so Koeman could very well be forced to sign more of a short-term option.
With this in mind, Everton should target a move for Wolfsburg hitman Mario Gomez, who was superb for his side in the Bundesliga last term.

The 32-year-old demonstrated that he still very much has what it takes to produce the goods at the highest level, scoring 16 goals in 33 league outings, following on from his outstanding return of 26 goals in 33 outings the previous season for Turkish side Besiktas.
Gomez has a wealth of experience in playing at the very highest level, with four league titles and a Champions League winner’s medal to his name, and that kind of winning mentality would surely prove to be a huge asset to the Blues.
The former Bayern Munich man would offer Everton a fantastic focal point to their attacking play, and his aerial ability, combined with his ruthless nature in front of goal would undoubtedly add a certain level of potency to their attack.

Gomez would be able to link up wonderfully well with Wayne Rooney, or would be equally as effective if deployed as part of a two-pronged attack alongside Sandro Ramirez.
The German is under contract with Wolfsburg until the summer of 2019, so he will still command a fairly substantial transfer fee, but Koeman should not hesitate to bring him to Goodison Park, whatever the price.
