Liverpool’s Mario Balotelli says he is pushing to get fit.
Injured Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli says he is giving his all to get back to full fitness.
The striker has not travelled to Bulgaria to face Razgrad Ludogorets in the Champions League, and has stayed behind on Merseyside to get treatment on a groin injury.
Balotelli missed the loss to Crystal Palace at the weekend, picking up the problem on international duty.
He took to his social media pages to send fans a message late last night:
Liverpool would be eliminated from the Champions League if they lose the tie to surprise package Ludogorets, who they beat courtesy of a last minute penalty from Balotelli at Anfield. He has not scored for the club since.
It is unclear at this point whether Balotelli will be fit to face Stoke City at Anfield this weekend, and he is clearly unwilling to commit to specific timescale.
After Stoke, Liverpool face Leicester, Sunderland, before travelling to Manchester United on December 14 for a crunch tie at Old Trafford.
