Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli says he is ‘loading up’ for next season.
Controversial Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has posted a message to Instagram, hours after the club’s humiliating 6-1 loss to Stoke.
The Italian international did not feature in the loss, and has had a disappointing debut season at the club.
With just one Premier League goal scored his future is open to debate, but Balotelli is seemingly confident next season will be better.
He posted the above photo on his social media page, with the message: “Thanks to Liverpool funs (sic) for this year …. I’m loading for next season.”
Balotelli pictures himself in shackles, suggesting he has been held back this season.
It is open to interpretation whether he feels this is due to injury, or a lack of confidence from manager Brendan Rodgers.
If the latter then he could get a fresh start if Rodgers is fired, with the boss telling the Guardian his future is in the hands of owners FSG.
Balotelli’s last appearance for Liverpool was in the 1-0 loss away to Hull City in late April.
