Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Real Madrid misfit Mariano Diaz this summer as Mauricio Pochettino looks to bolster his squad.

One of the best qualities about Mauricio Pochettino, both during his days at Southampton and now Tottenham Hotspur is his ability to bring the best out of players of whatever standing.
From players who are highly-rated youngsters such as Dele Alli to an academy product trying to push into first-team or a player that has lost his way in recent years – Pochettino can turn them into superstars.
That’s what happened with the then faltering Lucas Moura when he walked through the White Hart Lane doors for £23 million [BBC Sport] during the 2018 January transfer window from Paris Saint-Germain.
Could Real Madrid’s Mariano Diaz follow suit? Spanish outlet AS have reported that Tottenham are keen on his services.
The 25-year-old, who netted 21 goals in 48 matches for his previous club Lyon, has struggled to prove his worth in Madrid and is in need of reviving.

Pochettino would be the perfect manager to bring the best out of the speedster, who is devastating on the counter-attack and can run with the ball at ease when at his best.
Spurs are in need of fresh attacking talent, and more competition within the squad will only benefit all at the club and increase their chances of lifting some silverware next season.
Diaz wouldn’t be the first name on everyone’s lips, but he would be a more than capable performer for Spurs, and as Moura has proven, he may even produce one of the greatest moments a Spurs supporter has seen – Circa, May 2019, Ajax.
