England opened their Euro 2020 campaign with a 1-0 win over Croatia, with Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips stealing the show.
Gareth Southgate’s men started brightly but had to wait until the second half to open the scoring, with Raheem Sterling firing home.
Croatia couldn’t get back into the game, with England keeping a clean sheet at Wembley Stadium to start the tournament perfectly.
Leeds star Phillips proves his doubters wrong
Many were far from happy when the England teamsheet was announced and Leeds ace Phillips was named in the side.
He proved those people wrong though, turning in an all-action display as he was given more license to get forward with Declan Rice protecting behind him.
Phillips was everywhere, and even laid on the assist for Sterling’s winner with a fine drive forward and a perfect pass.

What has Marcus Rashford said?
Leeds and Manchester United may be bitter rivals, but that hasn’t stopped Marcus Rashford from praising Phillips.
Rashford has taken to Twitter to post just two words in reaction to Phillips dominating Croatia today, simply stating ‘immense today’.
Leeds fans already knew how good Phillips is, but maybe the rest of the country will now understand just why he’s a favourite at Elland Road.
