Liverpool may have beaten Leeds United 3-0 on Sunday afternoon, but the injury to Harvey Elliott has marred the victory.
The Reds were by far the better team at Elland Road, taking a first-half lead through Mohamed Salah.
Fabinho added a second after the break and Sadio Mane scored another in injury team, securing all three points for Liverpool – but that’s where the good news ends, unfortunately.
Liverpool ace Elliott suffers major injury
Teenage star Elliott once again looked outstanding for Liverpool. The positions he takes up, his control of the ball, his vision… Elliott looks like everything promised.
Sadly, Elliott now faces a spell out of action.
Pascal Struijk put in a heavy challenge on Elliott, leaving him in a heap around the halfway line.
Liverpool teammates looked horrified and replays of the incident were effectively banned.
That’s how you know an injury is very bad, and Liverpool’s win almost seems irrelevant with Elliott now on the sidelines.

Rashford sends message to Elliot
Elliott will need all the support he can get after such a horrendous injury, and he has received a message from Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.
Sure, Liverpool and United are big rivals, but Rashford has been left rocked by Elliott’s injury – just like everyone else.
Rashford took to Twitter to offer his thoughts to Elliott, stating that nobody wants to see that kind of injury – no matter that rivalries may be.
