Marcus Rashford is set to follow through on something under Barcelona boss Hansi Flick that Ruben Amorim stepped away from during his stint in charge at Manchester United.
The 27-year-old forward is heading out on loan for the 2025-26 season, making what he’s described as a dream switch to the Camp Nou.

Barcelona have agreed a one-year loan deal with United, which includes an option to make the move permanent next year for a fee of £30.3m.
Since joining up with Barcelona’s squad in July, Rashford has been getting his first taste of life at the club during their pre-season tour.
The move came after Rashford reportedly accepted a 25 percent pay cut from his Manchester United salary to help push the transfer through.
Marcus Rashford on Hansi Flick’s plans for him at Barcelona ahead of the 2025-26 La Liga season
Hansi Flick added Marcus Rashford to his squad to boost Barcelona’s attack, and he has a different vision for how the England forward will fit into the team.
While Rashford is a natural option on the left wing, providing an alternative to Raphinha, Flick has indicated that he sees potential in using him as a striker during his loan spell from United.
Rashford has already had a chance to play up front for Barcelona. He filled in as striker during their 5-0 win over Como earlier this month, stepping in after Robert Lewandowski was sidelined with an injury.
Speaking to Sport, the former Aston Villa attacker was asked about his ability to play out on the left wing and as a striker amid Flick’s comments around Rashford.
The United star says he’s open to both roles, focusing more on his impact than where he lines up on the pitch.
Ruben Amorim’s view on Marcus Rashford as a striker for Man Utd and his post-feelings on the Barcelona player
Ruben Amorim started Marcus Rashford up front in his first game as Manchester United manager, opting for the striker role against Ipswich Town.
Despite scoring early, Rashford’s influence faded as the match went on. He was replaced by Rasmus Hojlund in the second half of the 1-1 draw at Portman Road.
Afterwards, Amorim admitted that leading the line isn’t where Rashford is most comfortable.
“I will try to help him,” Amorim said in 2024, as per The Independent.
“That position is not the best one for him, especially in a game like that, we have to kick with high pressure, we have to kick the ball so many times and it was like fighting with two giants.
“We’ll try to find the right solution for him, as for the other players.”
The forward came off the bench in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Real Mallorca, who finished with nine men. It was a comfortable start to life in La Liga for both Rashford and Barcelona.
