Marcus Rashford has told Donny van de Beek on Twitter ‘Go show them what you can do’ after he swapped Manchester United for Everton on transfer deadline day.

Whilst Jesse Lingard will be staying put at Manchester United, his bench partner was allowed to leave for Everton on a loan deal until the end of the season.

After supporters pleaded with those in the Old Trafford dugout to provide the midfielder with regular starts, well, he will now get that under Frank Lampard’s stewardship at Goodison Park.

Nonetheless, when Rashford sent his Twitter message to Van de Beek, he responded on his own IG story by saying ‘Will miss my brother’.

A lot of eyes will now be on Everton and seeing how Van de Beek performs on Merseyside.

Debates have been raging far and wide as to whether he has been unfairly treated at his parent club.

Some felt that he deserved more respect and minutes out on the pitch, whilst others thought that it was telling that every manager kept putting him on the bench.

Well, the former Ajax man has the chance to prove people wrong for an Everton side that have been struggling for the majority of this season.

But if VdB can play his part in surging the Toffees up the Premier League table, then his reputation will go through the roof.

Last January, Lingard moved to West Ham and his goals helped them to Europa League football.

If Van de Beek can have a similar impact, then he might just return to Old Trafford as a regular next season rather than one that has to warm the bench time and time again.
