Marcus Rashford told Sky Sports, during their live coverage of Manchester United’s win at West Ham, that it was a ‘great feeling’ to have some fans in the London Stadium last night.
With London in tier 2, clubs such as West Ham were allowed to bring back 2000 fans to watch their Premier League clash.
It started very well for the home team, but in the second half, the introduction of Bruno Fernandes and Rashford changed the course of the game.
After the match, Rashford was asked what it was like having fans in the London Stadium even though they weren’t his fans.
“Brilliant,” said Rashford. “It’s something that everyone knows that game has missed. It what makes the game so special.
“We were speaking before the game in the changing room. It’s a great feeling to have some fans back.
“What was it today? 2000? It’s much better than nothing, so I am glad some fans can come back and enjoy their football.”

It’s a small step towards adding vibrancy and some atmosphere back into grounds because fans have been sorely missed.
Whilst West Ham fans would have been disappointed with yesterday’s result, albeit they were unfortunate with the Paul Pogba strike because the ball had gone out of play before he scored, but those in the ground and at home would have understood that David Moyes is doing a very good job.
There was a lot of pressure on the players and the manager at the start of the season because of the manner in which the owners were conducting business in the transfer market.
But Moyes is surprising a number of people and the Hammers faithful are looking more up than down.
