Marcus Maddison’s cryptic Instagram message has caused fans of Leeds United and Sunderland to speculate as to whether the Peterborough United winger could be en route to their club.
Maddison, who was linked with both Leeds and Sunderland – his childhood heroes – in 2018, posted the following message to his followers on Wednesday:
The 25-year-old is enjoying yet another impressive campaign at League One level, where he has scored or assisted 98 goals in 171 games.
But after the arrival of Lee Tomlin at Peterborough this month, there has been talk of a January move for Maddison, who has 18 months left on his contract at London Road.

Leeds could be in the market for attacking reinforcements this month, having loaned Samu Saiz to Getafe.
And although Sunderland are not exactly short in Maddison’s position, with Aiden McGeady and Chris Maguire either in or approaching their thirties, alternatives may be sought in the coming transfer windows.
