Tottenham Hotspur are said to be keen to sign Rafael Leao from Sporting Lisbon, and his arrival would put Marcus Edwards’ future in further doubt.

Edwards was once regarded as one of Tottenham’s top talents, but all of a sudden, he has big questions to answer.

Mauricio Pochettino has criticised the youngster’s attitude, and sent him out on loan to Norwich City this term.

However, since moving to Norwich, Edwards has made a worrying lack of progress.

The attacker was initially injured, but since returning Norwich boss Daniel Farke has suggested that he needs to improve in training to earn a place in his side.

Farke is still yet to give Edwards a first-team chance at Carrow Road, and it seems that the 19-year-old is gradually slipping down the pecking order.

The arrival of Leao would be a further source of concern for Edwards, as they would be going for the same position.

Leao is an attacking player, who can play off either flank or up-front.

And if the Portuguese prospect does arrive at Spurs, it may just show that Pochettino’s faith in Edwards is starting to dwindle.
