The Tottenham Hotspur youngster is still waiting for a chance this season but need only look at his teammate for inspiration.

While one Tottenham Hotspur player looks ahead to a potential England debut against Lithuania later today, another could do a lot worse than watch and learn by example.
Harry Winks has emerged as one of Tottenham’s most exciting midfield prospects in recent years, while Marcus Edwards continues to wait for a chance to prove his worth, years after fans were first touting his star quality.

It is worth noting that while Winks is 21, Edwards is just 18, but aside from a 15-minute cameo against Gillingham in the EFL Cup, the latter has not had a chance to prove his worth in the first-team fold.
In contrast, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has shown his faith in Winks, blooding him slowly over the last few years and watching him blossom in the process.

With seven appearances for Tottenham this season, Winks is clearly a major player this season, and he has been rewarded with a place in the England squad for this month’s World Cup qualifiers.
With Gareth Southgate’s side securing their place in Russia last time out, today’s match could be the ideal chance to give Winks a run-out, and if that is the case, Edwards should see what is possible if you knuckle down, work hard and give Pochettino what he wants both on the training field and on the pitch.
