Tottenham Hotspur will enter their young players into the competition following their return to the Champions League.

Had Tottenham Hotspur been playing in the Europa League this season there is a chance teenage sensation Marcus Edwards could have got a run-out or two, as many of his fellow academy graduates have before him.
But Spurs’ superb form last season means they are back among the European elite in the Champions League, ensuring manager Mauricio Pochettino goes strong from the outset.

However, while Edwards and his fellow Tottenham youngsters are unlikely to taste any first-team action in that competition, the club’s participation means they are also involved in the UEFA Youth League.
The club announced the fixtures on their official website on Thursday afternoon, with Tottenham playing their young counterparts from AS Monaco, Bayer Leverkusen and CSKA Moscow over the next few months.
It will not be the kind of platform Edwards wants as he bids to get his chance at senior level, but if the 17-year-old excels in Europe it will certainly be another string to his already formidable bow.

Tottenham fans have known about Edwards for some time now, and he finally ran out for the first-team during pre-season, impressing in the process.
He could yet make his competitive debut either in the EFL Cup or if injuries and suspensions take their toll, but in the short term the best he can hope for is to impress in this European competition and keep pushing on in training.
