The Tottenham Hotspur sensation is fit and ready to make his mark.

Tottenham Hotspur have a while before their next Premier League clash, but that does not mean they can put their feet up.

First on the agenda is the Europa League last-32 clash against KAA Gent before a FA Cup fifth round tie away to Fulham, and with Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino likely to ring the changes it will be interesting to see if teenager Marcus Edwards is called on.

The 18-year-old is equally comfortable on the right wing as he is in an attacking midfield role and with limited back-up options in that area for the next few weeks, Edwards deserves his shot.

Christian Eriksen cannot play every match and with Georges-Kevin N’Koudou and Erik Lamela currently side-lined and Moussa Sissoko flattering to deceive, the next best bet may be to put their faith in Edwards.

The likelihood is that Pochettino will play more experienced men away to Gent, but Edwards deserves a place on the bench and a possible run-out in the second half if things are going Tottenham’s way.

That would ensure he continues to build up his fitness, after recently returning from injury, before making his first senior start for Tottenham against Fulham a few days later.

It would be a brave move but given Edward’s innate talent it would be a smart move, too. And he could show the likes of N’Koudou and Sissoko how it is done in the process.
