The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has done just as well if not better than his teammate in the UEFA Youth League this season.

Following the news that Kazaiah Sterling will be involved for Tottenham Hotspur against APOEL Nicosia this week, while Marcus Edwards will not, the latter can rightly feel aggrieved given the players’ respective performances in the UEFA Youth League this season.
Tottenham fans have been waiting patiently for Edwards to be given another chance following his 15-minute cameo against Gillingham last season. However even in a European dead rubber the midfielder has been overlooked while Sterling and Luke Amos have been given a shot.
Sterling has been in fine form for Tottenham in the UEFA Youth League this season, scoring three goals and providing one assist in five appearances.

But in contrast Edwards has captained that same team to a win and a draw against Real Madrid and two victories against Borussia Dortmund, scoring three goals and setting up two more in the process.
In short, his return is better than Sterling’s and he also had the additional responsibility of wearing the captain’s armband, and yet still Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino says he is not ready.
When he will be ready is something only the manager knows, but with Sterling called up, Edwards could rightly wonder what he has to do to earn another chance.
