The Leeds United striker has struggled since arriving at Elland Road but he has not given up hope.

Leeds United forward Marcus Antonsson has been speaking to Hallandsposten about his first year at Elland Road and his hopes for the next campaign.
The 26-year-old Swede arrived in England off the back of an impressive campaign in his homeland, scoring 13 goals in 18 matches for Kalmaar and a total of 25 in 47 club appearances.
But unfortunately for the forward he failed to hit the ground running at Leeds, ending the season with just three goals and one assist in 21 outings.

He came close on a few occasions, chances that could have tipped the balance from disappointment to success, but his best performances ultimately came in the cups and he had to watch as New Zealand international Chris Wood scored week in, week out.
Antonsson went from the bench to obscurity, before being recalled for the final few weeks of the campaign.
Yet it was too little too late and Leeds slumped to a seventh-place finish while rumours began to circulate about the long-term future of the Swede.

Not that Antonsson is imagining life away from Leeds any time soon.
“Leeds, as a club, it cannot be much greater,” Antonsson told Hallandsposten. “The fans are absolutely magical and I’m determined to succeed. This will be my year.”
For now Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani needs to appoint a new manager, and from there decisions can be made about the playing staff.
Antonsson may hope 2018 is his year at Leeds but that will ultimately be a decision for Garry Monk’s successor.
