Marco van Ginkel is being wasted at Chelsea; should Everton look to land him?

Everton director of football Marcel Brands has already had one productive transfer window, and fans will be expecting more in January and in the summer transfer window.
Yerry Mina, Lucas Digne and Andre Gomes were rescued from obscurity at Barcelona, whilst Kurt Zouma and Richarlison also came in, giving Marco Silva a major boost.
Brands will already be considering other options, and with Gomes only on loan from Barcelona and Morgan Schneiderlin’s future up in the air, another central midfielder may just be an option.
One player that could be on Brands’ radar is Chelsea’s Marko Van Ginkel, who was a Brands favourite at PSV Eindhoven, having signed him on loan for two-and-a-half years with the Dutch club.
Van Ginkel was a prolific midfielder for PSV, scoring 31 goals in 64 games from midfield for the Dutch outfit, and was even named as captain last summer despite being a loanee, and won two titles with PSV too.

Now 25, Van Ginkel has gone from being a prolific captain in a title-winning side to sitting in the shadows at Chelsea, as he hasn’t made a single appearance in any competition this season and is stuck going nowhere at Stamford Bridge.
With Chelsea unlikely to put up a fight to keep him, and Everton’s hopes of signing Ruben Loftus-Cheek slim, Brands would be wise to consider landing a bargain move for Van Ginkel instead to boost Everton’s midfield options.
