With Gylfi Sigurdsson set to miss out on playing for Everton, Kieran Dowell could be called into Marco Silva’s first-team.

If Kieran Dowell does not get called into Everton’s first-team this weekend, with Gylfi Sigurdsson set to be out injured, then it will be an indication that he needs to leave Goodison Park in January.
Dowell stuck around at Everton over the summer, despite interest coming in for his services.
Marco Silva wanted to keep the attacking midfielder around, after he impressed in the Championship last campaign.
However, Dowell has barely featured for the Toffees this term, and if he is overlooked again then it will surely be time to move on.
Sigurdsson has been in great form this season, so Dowell having to play second fiddle has not come as a surprise.
But with the Icelandic international out injured, Dowell needs to see that he is first reserve if he is to have any merit in sticking around at Everton.

The youngster has already proven that he is capable of playing regular football, after enjoying a very successful loan spell with Nottingham Forest last term.
And if Everton are unable to provide him with action, even with Sigurdsson sidelined, then Dowell needs to seek a move away from Goodison Park, at least on loan, in the January transfer window.
