Leighton Baines’ contract at Everton expires at the end of the season.
Baines has just months remaining on his contract at Everton, which is worth £70,000-a-week (Daily Star), and he is yet to pen a new deal.
There is a great deal of uncertainty around Baines’ future with the Toffees right now.
But Silva insists that Baines could earn a new deal at Everton, even though he is no longer a permanent starter.
“I have no doubts Leighton is a big part of our squad, he is a really important part of our squad,” Silva said.
“If he plays 10, 15, 20 games or if he plays five or 10, he is a really important player for me, for our club, an important player for our dressing room also.
“If he is in the last year of the contract of course it is a possibility for him to renew his contract also.”
Baines has been at Everton since 2007, but his starting place has rarely been under so much threat as it is now.
Lucas Digne has taken the role as Everton’s first choice left-back so far this season, with the Frenchman impressing since arriving from Barcelona.
Baines did, however, start the Toffees’ last match against Wolverhampton Wanderers, but he failed to impress in a 3-1 defeat, as he conceded a penalty.
Everton are next in action tomorrow, when they take on Manchester City.
