West Ham United were too good for Everton yesterday.
Everton boss Marco Silva addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s disappointing 3-1 home defeat to West Ham yesterday, and shared what he told his players immediately after the game, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
The Hammers had lost their opening four Premier League games, so the Toffees would have entered the game full of confidence, but they were second best from the very first whistle up until the last.
Everton now sit in 10th spot in the Premier League table, having won just once so far this season, and following a summer of heavy spending, their start to the season must be classed as an underwhelming one.
Silva addressed the media after the game yesterday, and did not hide his disappointment with his side’s display against West Ham, sharing what he told his players in the dressing room following the match, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo:
“We didn’t perform on a level to win this match, it is clear and I have told our players as well, at this level you cannot make the mistakes we made. When you create chances like we did you have to score.”
Next up for Everton is a trip to Arsenal on Sunday, and Silva will be looking for an instant response from his underperforming side.
