Everton boss Marco Silva has come under increasing pressure after his side’s poor start to the season.

Everton were beaten 2-0 by Sheffield United in their last match at Goodison Park, in what was a hugely disappointing defeat.
The Toffees had made a thoroughly underwhelming start to the season, which has placed Silva under pressure.
The Portuguese boss has certainly not been aided by Everton’s fixture list, as their game against Manchester City was extremely difficult.
But Everton managed to give the current champions a big scare.
Everton created a sizeable amount of chances and although they were beaten 3-1 in the contest, Silva was encouraged by what he saw from his players.
“I think we had more chances because we live on that and show that reaction,” Silva said.
“I asked them to do that. It didn’t start like we wanted credit to them because we knew that the quality and what they can do with the ball.

“But after the goal, we were really good and when we created with the ball and created chances against them we deserved more from the game, in my opinion.”
Everton will hope that the performance against City acts as a turning point for their campaign.
If the Toffees can perform to a similar standard against weaker teams in the Premier League then they should improve massively on their position right now.
Silva’s men are currently 15th place in the table, after taking just seven points from their first seven matches.
