Everton boss Marco Silva is facing questions at Goodison Park for the first time now.
Everton went into the break 3-1 down at Goodison Park, with Spurs carving them open time after time.
The Toffees had shown some promising moments going forward though, and Silva felt that if his side could have shut out Tottenham they would have had a chance to get back into the game.
He said: “We spoke at half-time and I said we would score goals in the second half and it was important not to concede again. But in the first few minutes we conceded and it was very difficult for us.
“It is a big lesson for us as a team.”
Silva’s plan certainly did not go according to plan, as his Everton side just could not compete with Spurs.
Christian Eriksen scored soon after the break, before Harry Kane and Heung Min-Son both found the back of the net to seal a comfortable three points for Spurs in a 6-2 win.
Everton are now facing questions for the first time this season, as their form has dramatically tailed off.
Everton are now winless in five games, with their defending highly questionable.
Silva’s side are now in 11th place in the Premier League table, with their next match coming against Burnley on Boxing Day.
