Speaking to The Guardian, Marco Silva has given his view on his former Hull City player and current Liverpool star Andy Robertson.
The former Everton boss of course managed Robertson at Hull, and while he couldn’t save the Tigers from relegation that season, he says that Robertson was a brilliant footballer and that he’s not surprised how well he’s done since leaving the club.
Silva says that Robertson was a one of a kind player in that he actually enjoyed working really hard.
“He had a unique skill: he enjoyed working really hard,” Silva said
Of course, Robertson wasn’t the only high-profile defender Silva had on his books at Hull, with the gaffer also working alongside Harry Maguire.
“He came from Sheffield [United], very young but with a lot of personality,” Silva said of Maguire.

This is certainly an interesting insight into what Robertson is like on the training ground.
The Scot covers so much ground in a game, but it’s surprising to hear that he actually enjoys working hard.
Even the hardest-working footballers don’t like doing a lot of running sometimes, but it seems as though Robertson thrives on that.
Perhaps that’s what makes the Liverpool star so good.
