Marco Silva’s Everton lost to Watford in the Premier League on Saturday.
Gomes, signed on loan from Barcelona in the summer of 2018, started for Everton in their Premier League game against Watford on Saturday afternoon.
The 25-year-old central midfielder was substituted in the 63rd minute, while 29-year-old Senegal international defensive midfielder Gueye played for the entire 90 minutes.
Everton manager Silva has said that Gomes and Gueye were tired during their 1-0 defeat to Watford away from home at Vicarage Road.
Silva told Everton’s official website: “The first-half was balanced, they created one good chance and we had a very good chance with Cenk Tosun.
“Second half was the same again. They started to create more problems with their long balls. I felt Andre Gomes and Gana were getting tired after we played on Wednesday night.
“Watford had one week to prepare for the game. I changed Andre and was preparing to put on Bernard when they scored.”

The defeat to Watford means that Everton are now ninth in the Premier League table with 33 points from 27 matches.
