Everton lost 2-0 at home to Manchester City on Wednesday night.

Everton boss Marco Silva has praised the club’s fans for creating a ‘bouncing’ atmosphere against Manchester City on Wednesday night, as quoted by Sky Sports, and hailed them for applauding his players off the pitch at full time.
The Toffees needed a response after being convincingly beaten by Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, though last night was a strange situation.
Many Everton fans actively wanted City to win, as it would damage Liverpool’s hopes of winning the Premier League title ahead of Pep Guardiola’s side.
City took a first half lead through Aymeric Laporte, before Gabriel Jesus just about managed to make it 2-0 in injury time.
It’s now seven defeats in 10 for Everton, and Silva remains under huge pressure ahead of this weekend’s trip to face his former club Watford.
However, whilst Everton players were jeered off the pitch at the end of the defeat to Wolves, the atmosphere against City was somewhat different.

Everton fans clapped and applauded their players off the pitch after a rousing display, and Silva has suggested that Goodison Park was ‘bouncing’ at times, and their support for the players at full time means he has no doubts that things will come good in the end.
“I keep really positive, the team gave the answer we must give, and the first words are to them and secondly to our fans,” said Silva. “I saw Goodison bouncing in some moments, and at the end of the match what they did with our players I don’t have doubts, our fans, our players working and we’ll give them what they want and what they deserve,” he added.
