Everton have given midfielder Tom Davies a new contract.

Everton boss Marco Silva has told the club’s official website that he sees Tom Davies becoming a ‘really important player’ in the future.
The Toffees raided Tranmere Rovers way back in 2009 to land an 11-year-old Davies, and he has been coming up through the Goodison Park ranks ever since.
Davies really excelled in the 2016-17 season, and whilst he’s been in and out of the team under a couple of different managers, he’s almost at 100 appearances for the club already.
Davies is still only 20, and will surely become an England international one day if he continues to develop with Everton, which looks likely after his new contract.
The midfielder penned a new deal until June 2023 earlier this week, giving him the stability needed to get his head down and push for more first-team football under Silva.
The futures of Idrissa Gueye, Andre Gomes and Morgan Schneiderlin are far from certain, so Davies really has something to aim for, even if the Toffees are expected to spend this summer.

Now, Silva has reacted to the new deal by praising Davies for some ‘very good moments’ this season, and predicted that the youngster will be ‘really important’ for Everton in the future.
“It’s really important to secure Tom’s future here at Everton. He’s an important player for us now and he will be going forward, for sure,” said Silva. “He’s had some very good moments this season, captaining the team and taking big responsibility on his shoulders. Even when he has not played because the competition is really tough, he has shown his desire in the way he works always.”
“He’s a player from our Academy, he loves our Club and he will be a really important player in the years to come,” he added.
