The Everton midfielder is one of Silva’s most trusted players.

Everton boss Marco Silva spoke exclusively to the Liverpool Echo, and praised Idrissa Gueye to the hilt, highlighting just how important the midfielder is to his team.
The Senegalese ace was heavily linked with a move away from the Toffees last month, with Paris Saint-Germain having had a £26.2 million bid rejected for the 29-year-old on transfer deadline day, according to a report from Sky Sports.
Gueye ended up staying at Goodison Park, however, and he will have a key role to play for Everton between now and the end of the season.
Silva highlighted exactly what the former Aston Villa man brings to his side, when speaking exclusively to the Liverpool Echo, sharing how his presence in the Everton team makes everybody else’s job a whole lot easier:

“He is really aggressive, he is fast in both transitions and it is important for us. With him there, we can have the other players free to support the attack. He has been really important for us since the beginning of the season. And he was last season also. He is playing well and he is doing a good job.”
Everton currently sit in ninth spot in the Premier League table, and that quite clearly is not good enough for the Merseyside outfit.
Silva’s side need to finish the season strongly, if he is still to be in a job come May, and Gueye will have to be on his very best form, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of finishing inside the Europa League spots.
