Watford are reportedly close to signing Andre Carrillo from Benfica.
Watford are close to sealing their eighth signing of the summer after securing a deal for Benfica winger Andre Carrillo.
According to reports from O Jogo (printed edition; press reader), Watford have secured a season long loan deal for the Peruvian international, and will have an option to convert it into a permanent move next summer.
Sky Sports are reporting that the 26-year-old has already arrived in the UK, and will undergo a medical with Watford on Thursday.
Marco Silva has previously worked with Carrillo during their time at Sporting Lisbon, and looks set to be reunited again at Watford.
The report adds that a work permit has been granted for the Peru international.
Carrillo spent five years with Sporting before moving to the Estádio da Luz last summer. However, he has struggled to make a strong impact, and managed only two goals in 20 appearances for the Portuguese champions.
Watford have signed Andre Gray, Richarlison, Tom Cleverley, Will Hughes, Nathaniel Chalobah, Kiko Femina and Daniel Bachmann so far in the summer transfer window.
Carrillo is a highly talented winger and would add depth and quality to the side. He would be a superb addition to Marco Silva’s squad.
