Morgan Schneiderlin has not been playing regularly for Everton this season.

Morgan Schneiderlin of Everton FC looks on during the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Everton FC at Selhurst Park on April 27, 2019 in London, United Kingdom.

Everton manager Marco Silva has suggested to The Liverpool Echo that Morgan Schneiderlin will not leave in the summer transfer window.

Schneiderlin has not had a great season for Everton this season, but there have been encouraging signs for the former Manchester United defensive midfielder.

According to WhoScored, the 29-year-old has made nine starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Toffees this season.

The Sun reported last month that the Toffees will sell Schneiderlin, among other players, in the summer transfer window.

Everton boss Silva, though, seems to have suggested that the former Southampton star will stay at Goodison Park next season.

Silva told The Liverpool Echo about Schneiderlin: “The first three, four, five games he played well. Then he had a personal issue also. Some games were not so good, not just him but the team.

“Then Andre came in and did really well. I told you it was a matter of confidence with Morgan. I never had doubts about his quality or value. I believe in him of course.

“He’s performing well. He’s taken the chance and did well. I’m happy not just because he’s performing well but because Morgan as a professional deserves this moment.”

Everton stay?

Schneiderlin has not been exactly great for Everton even since he joined from Manchester United, but the defensive midfielder is a very good player who can get back to the level he was at when he was on the books of Southampton.

The France international needs to be shown confidence and has to be assured that he will get the chances if he trains well.
