Everton attacker Ademola Lookman has caught the eye when given starting chances for Marco Silva’s side.

Marco Silva has told Everton’s official website that he is certain that Ademola Lookman will enjoy an excellent career.

Silva has fought hard to keep Lookman at Everton, but the England youth international has only been given limited game time this term.

Silva has generally played Theo Walcott over Lookman, but the Everton youngster proved just how effective he could be in the Toffees’ last match.

Lookman was arguably Everton’s biggest attacking threat, as they beat Bournemouth 2-0.

And Silva said: “It was a fantastic performance. He will improve more and more. I have believed in him since I joined the club. All the credit is to him.

“I have worked hard with him. He is at a very good level.

“He is a player with high quality and I have no doubt he will achieve very good things in his career – in the present and future if he keeps working this way.”

Lookman’s appearance against Bournemouth was just his second league start of the season for Everton.

The 21-year-old didn’t score, but he did provide the assist which allowed Dominic Calvert-Lewin to smash home the winning goal.

Lookman could now retain his place in Everton’s starting line-up for the coming weeks.

Silva’s side are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Southampton.
