Everton take on Cardiff City on Tuesday afternoon.
Everton boss Marco Silva has told the Liverpool Echo that defender Yerry Mina is a doubt for the trip to Cardiff City.
After more than two weeks without a fixture, Everton are back in action on Tuesday night as they travel to South Wales to take on Cardiff.
Manager Silva is under huge pressure after a torrid run of results, which has seen Everton lost eight times in their last 11 games.
It’s now just three wins in their last 14 outings, and Silva needs a positive result on Tuesday night to ease some of the pressure – especially as his side have enjoyed such a long break.
However, that break may not be long enough for defender Mina, who has been struggling with an injury of late.
The big-money summer signing lost his place in the Everton side in December, and after playing 45 minutes against Millwall in January, he hasn’t been seen since.
Some have been left wondering where Mina is, and Silva has now offered an update on his situation ahead of Tuesday’s game.
Silva says Mina is a doubt for the game despite training in the last two days, but Everton will make one final check on the giant Colombian centre back before ruling him out of contention to face Cardiff.
“Mina is a doubt, he worked last two days and will be in doubt until tomorrow,” said Silva. “We have one more session and after we will see how he is,” he added.
