Everton midfielder Kieran Dowell is reportedly set to stay at Goodison Park.

Keeping Kieran Dowell around at Everton would be a smart decision for Marco Silva.

According to Sky Sports, Dowell is set to be offered a chance at Everton next campaign, with Silva keen to test out the youngster.

And by doing so, Silva should immediately win favour with supporters at Goodison Park.

Sam Allaryce was often guilty of overlooking Everton’s young talent, with the likes of Ademola Lookman and Beni Baningime left in reserve.

But there is a hope that Silva would promote some more of Everton’s youth, and putting faith in Dowell would prove that.

Dowell had a fine season on loan at Nottingham Forest, and deserves his chance to show he is capable of performing at Goodison Park.

If the youngster finds it too much, Everton can always decide to loan him out in January.

But if Dowell steps up to the challenge, then Everton’s attacking threat will be increased, and Silva will immediately be given deserved plaudits for his decision to put his trust in the youngster.
