The Everton boss is keen to sign the pair on permanent deals this summer.
Everton boss Marco Silva spoke to reporters during his pre-match press conference today, and responded when asked about his chances of signing Andre Gomes and Kurt Zouma on permanent deals in the summer, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
The Portuguese midfielder and the French centre-back joined the Toffees on season-long loan deals in the summer of 2018, and they have both really impressed during their time at Goodison Park.
Barcelona-owned Gomes, 25, will cost around £30 million this summer, according to the Telegraph, whilst the Sun claims that Chelsea will expect the same amount for Zouma’s signature.
And when speaking to reporters today, Silva explained how he will do everything within his power to sign the duo permanently at the end of this season, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo:
“There’s always a chance. They are performing and enjoying too. It is up to us to do what we need to do to keep them but it is up to the clubs too. It is not just in our hands. The players have to decide together with them. They are happy, which is a good sign. We are happy with them.”
Signing the two players for a combined fee of £60 million would surely have to be considered as great business for Everton, and the club’s owners must do everything within their power to make it happen this summer.
