Everton midfielder James McCarthy has been kept out for nearly a year at Goodison Park with injury.

Everton midfielder McCarthy suffered a leg break back in January, which has kept him out for the year so far.
However, the Republic of Ireland international has now been back in Everton training for some time, and has a handful of under-23 appearances to his name.
McCarthy is still waiting for his chance back in Everton’s first-team, as he has been overlooked so far.
But Silva insists that he is a big fan of McCarthy’s talents and professionalism.
“I really like him,” the Toffees boss said. “He works really hard every day to achieve the best physical condition. He enjoys what he is doing.

“His teammates like him for the fantastic professional and very good player he is.”
McCarthy faces a tough task to break back into Everton’s team, as the Toffees’ midfield options are so strong.
Both Idrissa Gueye and Andre Gomes have been in good form this season, while Tom Davies appears to be Silva’s favoured option from the substitutes’ bench.
Everton are next in action against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend, but it remains to be seen if McCarthy will feature.
