Marco Silva has hinted that he is going to bring Yerry Mina into Everton’s starting line-up for their next match, in the Liverpool Echo.

Mina came on to make his Everton debut against Brighton & Hove Albion at the weekend.

The centre-back helped Everton see out a victory, as they picked up a 3-1 win over Brighton.

And Silva has now hinted that Mina could feature from the off for Everton against Cardiff City, with Kurt Zouma ineligible due to the terms of his loan deal.

“It is important,” he said, when asked about giving Mina his debut.

“It was a good moment for him to feel the Premier League for the first time and for him to feel our blue shirt for the first time as well.

“Not just because it is possible he will play the next match but I just felt they could create some problems for us from set-pieces and they were playing with two upfront.”

Mina was regarded as one of Everton’s most exciting summer signings, but he has been held back so far.

The Colombian international has had difficulties with injury, which has seen him left on the sidelines at the Toffees.

Mina now faces a tough task breaking into Everton’s team, as both Zouma and Michael Keane have impressed in recent weeks.

Everton could move up to sixth place in the Premier League table, if they are able to cause an upset against Chelsea next weekend.
