Everton managed to keep battling until the very end against Manchester United in their last fixture.

Everton slipped 2-0 down at Old Trafford on Sunday, and it would have been easy for the Toffees to feel sorry for themselves.
Everton were unlucky to have a penalty awarded against them for United’s first goal, and they had wasted a number of opportunities before the Red Devils added a second.
But Silva’s men kept pushing to try and get themselves back into the match, and they were rewarded when Gylfi Sigurdsson converted from the spot.
Although Sigurdsson’s goal only proved to be a consolation for Everton, Silva was still pleased with the way his side kept on pushing.
He said: “This is our way. I told the players at half-time that it is not easy to be at a place like that and be 2-0 down. But I never saw them giving up and that is a good sign for us, that they are trying until the end.

“You could see the fans giving them an ovation at the end of the match and that reflects that. The fans were unhappy at the result, like us, but they kept believing in us and for sure we will be stronger again next week.”
Everton are next in action on Saturday evening, when they take on Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Toffees are currently in ninth place in the Premier League table, after making a fairly encouraging start to life under Silva’s tutelage.
