Everton are on the look out for a new forward in the January transfer window.

Marco Silva has confirmed in the Liverpool Echo that Everton are looking for a new striker ahead of the January transfer window.

Everton have been forced to use Richarlison as a number nine this season, with the Brazilian striker performing well as a central striker.

However, Richarlison is more comfortable starting from a wide position and isn’t a natural goalscorer.

And Silva admits that Everton have their sights set on bringing in a new centre forward, even though potential targets are difficult to find.

“In January, it is not the moment to talk about. We are doing out work, developing our squad now,” Silva said.

“When the market opens we are able to answer and what we can do in that moment.

“At this moment, it is not the most important for me. It is a busy , busy month for me.

“About a striker if any team can have a 20-goal striker they are not easy to find. We have to work with the players we have in our squad, give them the conditions to score more goals.”

Everton have spent big in recent times, but are thought to have further funds to invest.

The Toffees are currently in seventh place in the Premier League table, after making a bright start at Goodison Park.

Everton currently have the likes of Cenk Tosun and Oumar Niasse also available to play up-front in their current squad.

Everton are next in action when they take on Newcastle United later this evening.
