Everton beat Watford 2-0 in the League Cup last night, as Marco Silva’s side progressed to the next round.

Everton ran out 2-0 winners over Watford in the League Cup, but their performance was not always fully convincing.
Everton struggled in the opening 45 minutes and went into the break with the scores locked at 0-0.
Silva introduced Walcott at half-time, and the winger made an instant impact, with the Toffees becoming a far great attacking threat.
The Portuguese boss also felt that Iwobi’s performance levels improved greatly in the second period, when he started to pick the ball up in much more dangerous areas.
“He made a big impact again this evening. The change we made at half-time made a big impact,” Silva said.
“Theo made a big impact again. Iwobi was different in the second half too. He found the spaces and was more creative. Our midfield found a different level and it was very important.

“Theo has always been an important player for me, even when he doesn’t play the games, and he knows that. He gets the chances because he shows to me he deserves it.”
Everton scored their goals against Watford through Mason Holgate and Richarlison, as they progressed to the next round.
The win was massively important for Silva, as he fights to save his job at Goodison Park.
It now seems likely that Walcott could come back into Everton’s starting line-up at the weekend, when they take on Tottenham Hotspur.
