Everton manager Marco Silva has suggested to The Liverpool Echo that he is not interested in signing Malcom from Barcelona in the January transfer window.

According to Marca, Everton want to sign the 21-year-old forward this month, while Sport has credited Tottenham Hotspur with interest in the Brazilian.

Silva, though, has said that he is not interested in the youngster, and that could open the door for Tottenham.

When asked about reported interest in Barcelona forward Malcom, Silva told The Liverpool Echo: “There is nothing.”

Malcom joined Barcelona from French club Bordeaux in the summer of 2018, but the young forward has struggled to make a huge impact at Camp Nou so far this season.

The Brazilian forward has played just 97 minutes of football in La Liga and just 30 minutes in the Champions League for Barca so far this campaign, according to WhoScored.

If Everton do not want the Brazilian, then it makes it easier for Tottenham to pursue their reported interest in the youngster.

A loan move Malcom will suit Tottenham perfectly, as the 21-year-old will be a decent deputy for Harry Kane and Spurs will not have to spend a lot of money on a young and promising forward.
