Everton midfielder Tom Davies has slipped down the pecking order at Goodison Park this season.
Davies has dropped down the pecking order at Everton this term, but Silva is a big admirer of the England youth international.
Davies has been handed the captain’s armband on occasion at Everton since the Portuguese boss arrived.
And Silva has suggested that even though he keeps picking Andre Gomes and Idrissa Gueye, he cannot overlook Davies’ quality.
“It is always a difficult decision for me,” he said. “Tom Davies is a good example. He was playing very well and getting better and the game he had against Leicester [was good].
“Andre and Gana are doing very well, but it is impossible for me to forget what Tom did in that moment.
“It is a matter of decisions. What I want is them working hard to be ready when the chance comes again.”
Everton’s form has dipped in recent weeks, so Silva may be contemplating changes ahead of the weekend.
Gomes and Gueye had formed a strong partnership in Everton’s midfield, but the latter’s performances have come in for a bit of criticism more recently.
Everton are now winless in their last four Premier League matches, with a loss to Liverpool at the start of the month clearly denting their form.
The Toffees face a tough game next, with Tottenham Hotspur the visitors to Goodison Park on Sunday.
