Everton forward Richarlison has scored five goals in all competitions so far this season.

Marco Silva, Manager of Everton reacts during the Carabao Cup Round of 16 match between Everton and Watford at Goodison Park on October 29, 2019 in Liverpool, England.

Marco Silva has admitted to the Guardian that Everton made a huge effort to sign Richarlison, and it has all been worth it now.

Richarlison had an excellent debut season at Everton after arriving in a big money move from Watford.

The Brazilian has found the going slightly harder this term, with Everton in poor form.

However, Richarlison hit the winner for the Toffees again at the weekend, as they beat Southampton 2-1.

The young forward showed his goalscoring instincts, as he blasted home from close range to secure a huge three points for Everton.

And Silva thinks that all his efforts to bring Richarlison to Goodison Park have proven worthwhile now.

“We [Everton] did a big effort as a club to sign him,” Silva said.

“He is doing well because our fans love him. Its good to see him scoring and it is good to see him recognise that we are important for him as well.

“Seeing Richarlison being a Brazilian international is fantastic for me and seeing how he is playing and how the fans love him as well. He deserves it.”

Richarlison now has five goals in 15 appearances for Everton this term, including three in the Premier League.

Considering Everton’s struggles, his one in three ratio is a very credible return.

Richarlison will now link up with the Brazil squad over the coming international break, with his country set for matches against Argentina and South Korea.
