Former Ibrox striker Marco Negri is open to working with Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard for the Gers.

Former Ibrox striker Marco Negri has told The Scottish Sun that he is open to returning to Rangers.
Negri was on the books of Rangers from 1997 until 2001, and the 48-year-old Italian has said that he would love to work with Ibrox manager Steven Gerrard as a forwards’ coach.
“Last season I was part of the Udinese staff with Massimo Oddo,” Negri told The Scottish Sun. “I was taking care of the strikers, it was a specific role. It was very interesting and a great, great experience.
“I’m waiting for a new call from the football world, which is my life. I would like to coach some more.
“Would I be happy to help Rangers if they ever needed a striker coach? Absolutely. It wouldn’t be a job but a dream to do that!”

Back to Rangers?
Rangers are scoring goals at the moment and have one of the best young strikers in Europe in Alfredo Morelos, but Gerrard’s side could do more.
As evidenced during their 1-0 win against Hamilton Academical at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership at the weekend, Rangers do have to be more clinical in front of goal, and someone of Negri’s experience as a player and coach could help with that.
The 48-year-old is ready to work for Rangers, and it would not hurt the Gers to at least consider him and hold talks with him.
Rangers are genuinely challengers for the Scottish Premiership title this season, and any help to the players must be welcomed.
The Gers are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment.
