There is no doubt that Rangers summer signing Joe Garner has quickly become a fan favourite at Ibrox.
The former Preston North End attacker has won over the Rangers fans with his hard work and tireless performances up top for the club.
So much so that the Gers faithful are trying to get their Joey Garner song to Christmas number one. They sing with the chorus changed from: “I’m feeling… glad all over” to “We’ve got… Joey Garner”.
Rangers’ Joe Garner celebrates
It has become a big hit for the Rangers fans and the original single from the Dave Clark Five is about to enter the official top 40.
Now the movement has support from another Rangers cult hero – Marco Negri.
The Italian netted 33 goals in 26 games at the start of the 1997-98 campaign, finishing the season on 36 from 39 before injuries curtailed his Glasgow career.
He posted his support for the single on his official Twitter account:
Getting to number one seems a long shot for Garner, as much as it does for Rangers in the Scottish Premiership this season.
But as long as he keeps working as hard as he has been Rangers fans will continue to support the attacker.
