Sunderland and Derby County played out a 1-1 draw in the Championship on Friday evening.

Marco Gabbiadini has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to the performance of Sunderland against Derby County on Friday evening.

Sunderland kicked off their 2017-18 Championship campaign with a 1-1 draw with Derby at the Stadium of Light.

The visiting Rams took the lead after just 11 minutes when Bradley Johnson found the target, and Lewis Grabban restored parity for the home team from the penalty spot in the 42nd minute.

Former Sunderland and Derby striker Gabbiadini, who is now 49 years of age, has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the performance of Simon Grayson’s side.

Gabbiadini has picked James Vaughan as the ‘Man of the Match’. The 29-year-old forward started the game and played for the entire 90 minutes.

The 49-year-old has also given his verdict on the performance of Derby against Sunderland.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at the Stadium of Light on Friday evening, hosts Sunderland had 46% of the possession, took 20 shots of which four were on target, and earned six corners, according to BBC Sport.

Visitors Derby had 54% of the possession, took 11 shots of which four were on target, and earned seven corners, according to BBC Sport.
