Liverpool are interested in signing the Real Madrid attacker, according to reports.

Real Madrid star Marco Asensio sat down for an exclusive interview with Spanish media outlet Marca, and responded when asked whether there is any truth behind reports suggesting that Liverpool have submitted a €180 million (£158.3 million) offer for his services.
The 22-year-old attacker is one of the most highly regarded young players in the game, and Mundo Deportivo claimed on Saturday that the Reds have made a £158.3 million bid for the Real Madrid superstar in the making.

Mundo Deportivo are well-known for making outlandish claims, but with the incredibly fierce competition for places in the forward areas at the Santiago Bernabeu, an exit from the Spanish capital for Asesnio wouldn’t be outside the realms of possibility.
Love Island World Cup: If EVERY contestant was a 2018 World Cup team
The Real Madrid ace sat down for an exclusive interview with Marca whilst in Russia on World Cup duty with Spain, and responded when asked whether he is aware of Liverpool’s reported interest in his signature:

“It’s out there, but I am now focused on the World Cup. When it finishes we can talk about those things. My mind is now in Russia.”
Far from ruling out a move from Liverpool, the Spaniard did nothing to quell rumours linking him with a switch to Merseyside, and if the Reds do manage to bring him to Anfield this summer, it would surely send shockwaves around the whole of Europe.
