Speaking on the Que Golazo Podcast, Andrea Radrizzani has delivered an important update on Marcelo Bielsa’s future at Leeds United.

The Italian is of course in charge of keeping Bielsa at the club and for all intents and purposes he is his boss.

However, there’s always been a feeling that Bielsa is only at Leeds on his own terms, and with the Argentine only ever signing a one-year contract with the club, speculation has once again started about the future of the Argentine.

Luckily, it seems as though Radrizzani has every intention of keeping Bielsa at the club, claiming that the coach knows he’s happy with him and that he wants him to stay.

“Marcelo knows that we’re happy with him, so if he stays we are really delighted to continue. I believe the players are still following him unconditionally and that’s the first important element for me to decide to continue with him, and if the group is happy and we should continue,”

The chairman then went on to say that one of the key reasons behind wanting Bielsa to stay is that he wants him to experience fans at Elland Road in the Premier League

“I believe that this team is not finished yet with Marcelo, and they need to come and enjoy the fans in the Premier League, that’s what he deserves as a manager and it’s unique experience, so he should stay just for that I think.”

We can only hope that Bielsa does get a chance to experience a packed out Elland Road in the Premier League, but it’s genuinely impossible to predict when that will be.

There seems to be no sign of fans returning anytime soon, so if Bielsa is to see supporters in the ground again, he’d have to sign a new contract.

Fingers crossed the Argentine fancies spending at least another year in West Yorkshire.
