Leeds United drew 2-2 with Swansea City last night.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s 2-2 draw with Swansea City in Wales last night, and responded to reporters when asked what disappointed him about his players’ performance, as quoted by Leeds Live.

The Whites’ draw against the Swans took them to the summit of the Championship table, and there is a certain level of optimism reverberating around the club that hasn’t been present at Elland Road for quite some time.

Bielsa has his Leeds side playing some quite scintillating football, but they showed another side to their game last night, rolling up their sleeves and earning a hard-fought point, having trailed twice in the match.

He wasn’t entirely happy with his team’s display at the Liberty Stadium, however.

The Argentine spoke to reporters after the game last night, and shared what disappointed him about his side’s performance, as quoted by Leeds Live:

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa (R) arrives for the Sky Bet Championship match between Swansea City and Leeds United at the Liberty Stadium on August 21, 2018 in Swansea, Wales.

“We didn’t defend very well. This did not allow us to dominate the game with regularity. We didn’t defend well. There are justifications for that because very soon during the game, of the five players who built the defensive structure, we lost three of them. This was an obstacle, maybe. In order to attack you have to defend well. The offensive performance of the team was good enough.”

Next up for Leeds is a trip to Norwich City on Saturday, and Bielsa will be looking for a much better footballing display from his team at Carrow Road.
