Leeds United are reportedly on the verge of selling Pontus Jansson.
Leeds United’s reportedly imminent sale of Pontus Jansson has rocked the Whites’ fanbase.
The Yorkshire Evening Post report Jansson will be sold to Brentford, with Leeds deciding the time is right to part with the Swede.
This decision reportedly has the green light from Marcelo Bielsa, and while it has not been explained fully yet, it was foreshadowed in April.
This happened in Leeds’ end of the season match with Aston Villa, when Bielsa adhered to his fair play principals and ordered his players to permit their opponents to score.
Jansson was the only Leeds player to tried to prevent the goal.
Bielsa spoke to Leeds Live after the game and suggested Jansson had ignored his instructions.
“Jansson did not want to listen. This diminishes my authority. I don’t know what the consequences are when you lose the faith of the player.”
It was hard to know how serious Bielsa was being at the time.
We know now, that this was the beginning of the end.
Bielsa has sent a message to the Leeds squad, don’t undermine him.
