Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has told Leeds Live that Raphinha is perfect for the Premier League.
Bielsa has said that, just like Leeds, Raphinha has gone through some highs and some lows this season.
The Argentine has added that the 24-year-old Brazilian winger’s characters are suited to the Premier League.
Bielsa told Leeds Live about Raphinha: “Similar to the way the team has played with highs and lows. Obviously some highs and some lows. The characteristics of Raphinha coincide with the demands of the Premier League.”
Making an immediate impact
Raphinha joined Leeds from Rennes in the summer of 2020 for a transfer fee reported by The Athletic to be worth £17 million.
According to WhoScored, the 24-year-old winger has made 11 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Leeds so far this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists in the process.
Leeds are doing well at the moment, and one of the reasons behind that is the contribution of the Brazilian.
The winger is scoring, creating chances, closing down opposition players, and working hard for the team.
Ezgjan Alioski situation
Meanwhile, Bielsa has said that Leeds are ready to extend Ezgjan Alioski’s stay at Elland Road if he himself is happy to stay at the club.
The 28-year-old is out of contract at Leeds at the end of the season.
The Argentine told Leeds Live: “I’m only one opinion in regards to the equation or evaluation of whether Alioski stays or not. First and foremost, the most important thing is that he wants to stay.
“I think when it comes to a player staying at a club the first thing, the most important thing is that the player wants to stay.
“The player should choose the club and after the club will decide whether they want him. But the main condition, the most important thing is the player wanting to stay.”
