Marcelo Bielsa suggests he could hand two Leeds United players debuts

Leeds United are set to play against Bristol City at the weekend.

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that Aapo Halme and Kamil Miazek could both make their debuts this weekend.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell has damaged his knee in training, and Pontus Jansson may also not make it.

It means that Leeds are short of options in central defence and in goal.

And Bielsa has suggested that he could turn to Halme and Miazek to offer solutions in Leeds’ match against Bristol City.

“Phillips can play as a centre-back or Aapo Halme is another possibility. He’s ready,” Bielsa said.

“It will also be difficult for him Peacock-Farrell to play because yesterday at the end of the training session he had a problem with his knee and probably won’t be able to play.

“Probably Kamil [Miazek] will play. I can’t tell you about the possibility of bringing someone in.”

Bielsa has already shown great faith in Leeds’ youngsters this season, but starting both Halme and Miazek would be a risk.

The pair are greatly inexperienced, but have shown promise when playing for Leeds’ development side previously.

Leeds go into their game against Bristol City on the back of a disappointing defeat to West Bromwich Albion before the international break.

If the Whites are able to win against Bristol City then they could return to the top of the Championship table, if other results go in their favour.
